Designed to celebrate 2021's full moon in mid-autumn, this one-of-a-kind plate is made with my unique feathering and marbling process. The grey and cream colours reference the silver moon's palette. The plate is an example of my Nerikomi technique, the feathers are colour-stained clays puzzled together to create surface patterns.
This versatile plate frames moon cakes beautifully, and they will comfortably accommodate a slice of cake or a pain au chocolat. It may also be used as a side plate for tapas and snacks.
Enjoy exploring the tactile patterns and textures revealed from slicing open layers of coloured clay, from the front to the back, including details of the rim.
